Moringa has numerous health benefits. In our last post, we discussed how nutrients in moringa helps in wound healing and ear edema.
In this reading we are discussing liver protection and anti-cancer properties of moringa.
Moringa may help in protecting liver damage cause by nonalcoholic fatty liver disease.
As per research paper published at PubMed, researchers noticed that certain organic compounds in moringa oleifera leaves to be helpful in NFLD. Those compounds lowered fat buildup in tissue of liver cells and accelerated protein activity responsible for breaking down fat.
Researchers also noted that clinical study is required to evaluate liver protection effects of moringa in humans.
Prevents & Treats Cancer
Moringa is useful as dietary supplement during cancer treatment. Niazimicin, a bioactive thiocarbamate glycoside organic compound, found to have suppressed development of cancerous cells.
As per the study moringa leaf or bark or other parts have shown anti-cancer properties by inhibiting cancer cells development. The same study also noted that if more detail study verifies the claim then it will prove to be breakthrough in treating liver, breast and colorectal cancer.
A detail clinical study would also help understand the pharmacology of moringa’s anti-cancer property.
However, more detailed research is needed to understand how it works at the cellular level.
